Tumble stones Meanings and Information
Tumbled stones have fascinated me for many years and it took a long time to learn about all the different tumble stones and how they can help you in everyday life, I have many many tumble stones all around my home along with other crystals and I love them all. I use them daily for many different reasons so I have a very large collection!
Those of you who have followed me and read thru my blog in the past will have noticed a change here, beforehand I had pictures of all known tumble stones that I had taken from various places around the web and of course some of them were my own these were purely to help you identify the different stones there colours and markings etc. But sadly and no names mentioned here of course! A certain website wasn't happy in helping anyone learn about the stones and made me remove any pictures I may have used from that particular site ~ other sites where more then happy for me to use their pictures but not that particular one! So I have decided to change things a little ~ never mind these things come to try us!!
I am not into making money to help people I offer information for free to help you learn about crystals and tumble stones and also about the Wicca/pagan way of life. I hope you find the information useful as you learn about tumble stones and crystals. As always I am only an email away and if you would like to comment on the blog them please do I always welcome comments and if you have any other information then please add.
Over the next few weeks I will be adding more and more to this section but of course this is going to take me some time with having to start over but as the saying goes it will be better then previously!!!
I am also thinking of selling tumblestones and crystals now as well but I will update more on this at a later date as I said I have hundreds of them all loved all cleansed so I just may decide to offer some for sale?
So then on to the first section of tumble stones and we are starting with Agate.
Agate
Patterned Chalcedony is called Agate and No two agates are a like, to officially be called an agate they must have banding. There are many different names for agates too many to list here so I have used the most common ones. Also to help with learning your tumble stones I have listed which family they come under, the colours the tumble stone is available in, where in the world they may come from, and if known the gemstone associated with a state in the US, if the stone is common or rare, also if you can cleanse your stone in water without harming your crystal or stone and if your tumble stone maybe dyed and various other information which I hope will be of use to you ~ see below for an example this particular set is for Agate

Agate and jasper's can be confusing to all of us! Is it jasper or is it an agate? When you have a stone with stripes, especially if they are transparent it is pretty safe to say it is Agate.
If you have an ‘Agate’ that lacks stripes or any sort of transparency it is most likely a Jasper.
Most rocks sold today are actually Jasper's.
Agates are easy to dye but Jasper's are not.
Agate has been around for more then 15,000 years
To help identify between agate and jasper All agate is a micro crystalline variety of silica (silicon dioxide). If the silica forms without bands of alternating colour it is referred to as chalcedony (transparent to semi-transparent) or jasper (opaque). If, however, the silica forms with distinct parallel bands it is referred to as agate. Agate forms as nodules or veins in host rock formations, the surrounding rock chemistry being responsible for the many hues that are imparted into the agate. Silica is a widespread mineral belonging to the quartz family (itself one of the largest rock families) and takes on a great number of appearances and this is reflected in the wide variety of agates available.
Agate is the oldest stone in history. In ancient times Agate was highly valued as a talisman or amulet Agates occur in nodular masses in rock such as volcanic lavas. It is believed to prevent insomnia and ensure pleasant dreams, to enhance personal courage and protect against danger. Agate provides a calming influence, improves perception, concentration. Agates attract strength and protects from bad dreams. It also protects from stress and energy drains.
