Auras and colour meanings

An aura is a coloured outline emanating from the surface of an object. This is not to be confused with halos of saints. Human auras allegedly emerge from the chakras. Aura is inner energy emitted from human body that covers the whole part of the body in different colours. The colours will be different based on the on the physical condition and emotion. Therefore, it always changes day by day and is always different for each individual.
Nature gave all of us all we need to see Auras. All is required is the knowledge how to use your senses together with your conscious effort. If you decide not to try, you will never see the Aura. On the other hand, when you see something for yourself, no longer will you need to rely on believing someone. You will know. And you can use your knowledge to learn more.

Under ordinary circumstances, auras are only visible to certain people with special psychic power. However, with a little bit of training, or with a special set of Aura Goggles with "pinacyanole bromide" filters (available at your local New Age Head Shop), anyone can see auras. You may also use Kirilan photography to capture auras on film.

You may never have seen or felt your own aura, but do not let that deter you from establishing a strong, conscious connection with it. It does exist. All you need to do is believe and to start working with it on a regular basis. Even though you may not be aware of it yet, you already have a very strong connection to it.
It may be easier to think of your aura as your own personal energy shield. It protects you from harmful outside influences, although it works better with some help from you. It helps keep your physical body healthy.
Your aura feeds your body and not the other way around as many think.

Whilst your physical body is within your skin, your energy body, your Aura, extends way beyond this. It is a three dimensional encasing that surrounds your body in every direction. It consists of many layers of fine energetic material. Just because you may not be able to see it, yet, does not mean it does not exist.
The overall shape of your Aura is egg shaped. It extends above the crown of your head to below your feet and totally surrounds you back and front, side to side. The depth of your Aura is different from person to person. Some people have an Aura that does not extend far from their physical bodies. Others, possibly because they are more spiritually developed, have an Aura that can extend much larger areas. But the general depth of a persons Aura is usually about 1 meter (3 ft) all around them.

The aura may look like different things to different people, but there is always some similarity in all auras. Saints in ancient times are depicted with yellow halos around their heads and something of this sort was seen in the gods of the Egyptians, Buddhists, and Hindus. The aura an egg-shaped layer of energy manifested as a fibrous yellow-white light. Most psychics can see up to the third layers of energy, since these are the layers closest to the body. The outer layers are tied to the soul and the spirit while the rest are linked to the mind, emotions, and health.
The aura is weakened by:
1. Poor diet
2. Lack of exercise
3. Lack of fresh air
4. Lack of rest
5. Stress
6. Alcohol
7. Drugs
8. Tobacco
9. Negative habits
10. Improper psychic activity

So how do you learn to see and read auras?
It is possible to perceive your aura using a few simple steps. The most important thing that you must remember before beginning this exercise is to be relaxed. Most experts suggest doing this exercise on your bed, or in any other place where you can feel most at ease, preferably in a place that is not too bright or too dark. An aura reading is best done in a place lit by a candle or the light from another room that seeps under your door. Lying on your bed, hold your hands out in front of you. Stare softly at your hands. Fix your attention on your hands while looking at the wall in front of you at the same time. This will make your hands look out of focus, but this is normal. Slowly bring your fingertips slowly toward each other, slowly but not touching. You can see your aura as fine blue and red lines at the ends of your fingertips. Bring your hands together and then slowly bring them apart, repeating this process as you see the streams of light connecting your fingertips together pulsate and grow brighter with your energy. Be patient, as you cannot see these lights during the first couple of tries. Also, rest when you get tired, as an aura reading is futile if you are tried or frustrated.

The following exercise is by
David Donahoo Dip. Clinical Hypnotherapy, Master Practitioner NLP, AI, Speaker
There is a very simply exercise that enables you to feel your
aura, since your aura is made up of energy. Begin this exercise by
rubbing your hands together very quickly. Continue to rub them for
about two minutes. You will find that they begin to get very warm, and
the arms may get a little sore.

Next bend the elbows and have
your hands about 50 cm or 1.5 ft apart. Slowly bring your hands
together. AS you do see if you begin to feel as if there is a pressure
building up between the hands that makes it slightly harder to move
together.

As you move the hands out and in slowly you can feel
that pressure change in intensity. What you are feeling is your aura
field. It is usually layers one and two. If you had any difficulty
with this exercise, then repeat it a few times a day until you begin to
feel the pressure.

As you become more aware of your aura, you can
then move onto feeling another person's aura. To do this put your
hands out in front with the palms facing the person whose aura you want
to feel. Make sure the person knows what you are doing and has agreed
to have you sense their aura. The as you move your hands towards their
aura, have the person imagine hey have an energy field around them and
make it expand outwards.

Move your hands towards and away from
the person and see if you are able to feel or sense their aura. Again,
this can take practice. Then more you practice the better you will get
with sensing the aura.

Here is a technique one can use to see the basic human aura, and is something that anyone with an open mind can achieve. The first thing we need to understand is that in the beginning one is not going to see a thick coloured, textured glowing field of energy. One is going to see a faint whitish outline around the head and shoulders standing about two to three inches off of the body. This whitish outline may even look slightly transparent and fairly faint.
We've all seen the 3-D paintings in the mall before. You know the one's that you've got to stare at, relax your eyes and that all of a sudden, bam, what was hidden is now obvious. Seeing auras is much the same way!

All you need to get started is a willing partner and a blank wall.

1. Have your partner stand against a white wall or dark one. Either one is accept able, however, the plainer the background the easier to see.
2. Stand about seven to nine feet away from the person against the wall. Blink your eyes a few times and try and relax them. The trick is not to strain them by focusing on any particular spot.
3. What you want to do is to focus on the person's head, somewhere between the bridge of the nose and the top of their hairline. You want to focus your main vision there but use your peripheral vision to see around the head and shoulders.

If you have been able to relax your eyes enough what you will see will be very subtle at first. At first you might even dismiss this as being a trick of the light or your eyes. What the common misconception is is that when one sees an aura it's this mystical field of energy radiating out four feet from the body with multi-coloured textures waving within it. This is an unreasonable expectation for the untrained mind. Before you ran you had to learn to walk.

In the beginning it is perfectly acceptable to only see a faint white outline. With practice and a clear mind one can improve their results and reap a more detailed sighting of the aura. Again, Rome wasn't built in a day. Be patient with yourself. With only a short amount of practice you will be able to see basic auras around all kinds of living and inanimate things, whether it's from your friends, to trees, paintings in your home to cars in a parking lot. The secret is to not to expect too much right away!

This exercise is designed to see Aura for the first time and/or practice seeing Auras. Choosing good conditions is important: not only you see the Aura better, but also to gain a confidence about what you see.
Situate the person in front of a very softly illuminated PLAIN WHITE background. A colour background will change Aura colours, so you need additional knowledge about combining colours. Some combinations of background and Aura colours may cause misinterpretation problems.

Choose ONE SPOT to look at. The middle of the forehead is VERY GOOD. This is a location of so called Brow Chakra or the Third Eye. In some cultures (India) they put a mark on a forehead. Such a mark in ancient times could mean the invitation to look and see the Aura.

Look at this spot for 30 to 60 seconds or longer

After 30 seconds analyze surroundings with your peripheral vision, while still looking at the same spot. Continuing the concentration is most important. Resist temptation to look around. You should see that the background nearby the person is brighter and has a DIFFERENT colour than the background further away. This is your own perception of the Aura. The longer you concentrate, the better you will see it. Remember, concentration on one spot increases your sensitivity by accumulating the effect of the Aura vibration reaching your eyes.

Taking a Snapshot of an Aura.
After concentrating long enough to see the aura, close your eyes. For a second or two you will see the Aura ONLY. Be prepared. You have only one second or two until your photosensitive cells will stop vibrating and sending visual sensations to the brain. And if you miss is, you have to start concentrating again. Try to experiment how fast or slow you should close your eyes.
How to see your own Aura
Stand about 1.5 m in front of a good size mirror. In the beginning it is best if the background behind you is plain white and there are no shadows. Illumination should be VERY soft and uniform not bright. Follow instructions above for seeing Auras.
PRACTICE for at least 10-15 minutes each day to increase your sensitivity and develop Auric sight. Remember that practice is required to develop Auric sight.
Observing auras of other people
The best is to look directly at someone's brow chakra (third eye or wisdom eye, which is located just above the nose, between eyes) and aim to achieve the state of mind similar to the concentration technique described above for at least 30-60 seconds. I have tried also looking at throat and heart chakras with similar results. However, if you concentrate on someone's chest it looks so unusual that the person concerned is usually very uneasy about it. When you look into someone's brow chakra you can actually continue conversation.
Again, VERY softly illuminated background, with no shadows is best. With practice, any uniformly illuminated background (such as a blue sky for example) will suffice.
The colours of auras

What the colours mean
Although auras can change colour according to our moods and our physical and emotional well being, we generally have one colour that is always present in our auras. This colour says a lot about us, because it describes our attitudes and beliefs. The interpretations given below are only suggestions but I have found them useful; however you may begin to develop your own ideas once you start to develop your aura reading skills.

Red
This is a vibrant colour to find in anybody's aura. It indicates that the individual is enterprising, dynamic & competitive. Often they enjoy being active and have a love of sports. Clear red indicates someone who loves life and lives it to the full. However, a dull red indicates anger or resentment.

Orange
Orange is a lovely warm and energizing colour and someone who has an orange aura is very positive and confident. This person goes through life believing all things will go well. Beware, of someone who has an overly bright orange aura has it often indicates an egotistical character.

Green
A clear green aura is found surrounding loving and affectionate people they instinctively want to create harmony for others. This may make them overly anxious to please and they may be taken advantage of. They have a great love of the outdoors and nature. Watch out for someone with a harsh green aura - they are often stubborn and inflexible to any new ideas.

Yellow
People with yellow auras tend to be life's thinkers. They would never rush into a decision. You may find them outgoing and very sociable. However, beware of someone with a murky yellow aura and they are probably less than truthful.

Pink (purple red): love (in a spiritual sense). To obtain a clean pink, you need to mix the purple (the highest frequency we perceive) with red (the lowest frequency). Pink Aura indicates that the person achieved a perfect balance between spiritual awareness and the material existence. The most advanced people have not only a yellow halo around the head (a permanent strong point in the Aura) but also a large pink Aura extending further away. The pink colour in the Aura is quite rare on Earth and appears only as a temporary thought, never as a strong point in the Aura.

Blue
Blue is the colour that belongs to someone who is idealistic and who has strong beliefs about what is right or wrong. They are often a seeker of spiritual knowledge and could be drawn to practice some form of healing. However, a dark blue aura indicates someone who is conservative in their views and afraid of change

Purple
People with purple auras right through from pale lilac to rich purple indicate someone with a strong sense of spiritual purpose. They are humanitarian and care deeply about the fate of others. A clear purple indicates a strong psychic ability.

Gold
A gold aura is rarely seen. Someone with a gold aura has a tremendous amount of potential and the ability to make a big contribution to the world. They have a deep sense of spirituality and visionary qualities. However, if someone has a dirty gold aura - take care. They have a strong materialistic streak and will stop at nothing to gain power.

Brown
A person with a rich brown aura is very practical and down to earth, and often has a strong love of animals. They enjoy working out of doors and are often very talented at growing plants. A red-brown aura indicates someone who likes to take care of others.

Grey
dark thoughts, depressing thoughts, unclear intentions, presence of a dark side of personality.

White
Reflects other energy. A pure state of light. Often represents a new, not yet designated energy in the aura. Spiritual, etheric and non-physical qualities, transcendent, higher dimensions. Purity and truth; angelic qualities. White sparkles or flashes of white light: angels are nearby; can indicate that the person is pregnant or will be soon

Black
Black is one of the most confusing of colours in the auric spectrum. I have heard individuals say that, when black shows up in the aura, it is an indication of death or terrible disease.

Black is a colour of protection. It is a colour which can shield an individual from outside energies. When seen in the aura, it can reflect that the person is protecting himself or herself. It can also indicate that person has secrets. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as it is not taken to extremes. Black can also indicate that a new understanding of burdens and sacrifices is going to manifest.

Black can also indicate imbalances. Physical imbalances often show up as black or darkened areas in the aura around the physical body. the location provides clues to this. In the outer edges of the aura, black can indicate holes in the auric field. I have seen this in the auras of those who were victims of child abuse and those who are or were strong substance abusers ( alcohol, drugs, tobacco etc.).

By learning to read and interpret your own and the aura of others, you will find it opens up a new understanding of the people who surround you in your daily life. It could transform your relationships, career and health.
