Pine cones are all around us now so why not use them in your decorations they are fun to make and look so lovely

Make a pine cone swag
Items you will need

Pine cones

Wire

Cutters

Ribbon (optional)

Collect your pine cones try and collect different shades of colours if possible as this will make your swag really stand out. Once you get them home allow them to open up from the warmth of your home, you can speed this up by placing them in the airing cupboard or somewhere nice and warm.

Cut a long piece of wire this will depend how long you would like your swag, bend in half to form a loop and wrap the loop around the base of your pine cone a few times so it is secure. Every time you put add a pine cone to the wire, give the pine cone a few twists, making sure you aren't unwinding the other pine cones.

Leave a little space between the pine cones so that your swag will drape, and not be too stiff. If you run out of wire, just add more. Keep going until you have the desired length you would like.

Hang over mirrors or doorways or even outside on your front door you can also add ribbons too if you would like to.

Alternative idea
Same as above really collect your pine cones this time either glue or staple and attach long lengths of ribbon to the base of your pine cone to make a lovely door decoration.

Alternative idea 2
Drill a small hole into the base of your pine cone and thread some small beads and stick them into the holes a small dab of glue will keep them safe. Use pretty thread or ribbon and hang in your window or wherever you would like.
