How to use your tumble stones

There are many ways to use your tumble stones you can use them in rituals, healing as decorative ornaments and so forth. Here are a few ideas for you. Always remember to cleanse your crystals before you use them. Don't forget to check if your crystal is suitable to be placed in water or sunlight etc. some crystals do not like this so please refer to my gemstone section where I have listed as many tumble stone/gems and crystals as I can and their likes and dislikes!

Around your home
The energy and essence of the stones you have in your home and surroundings will affect the energy of your home and the people in it. Crystals and other things in your home can also absorb and hold the emotional memory and energy from events and people who come into the space, When this happens you can help the crystals by clearing them with one of the gentle clearing methods. Crystals will clear themselves over time but they appreciate your attention care and kindness.

Rooms in the house and garden
Arrangements of stones in the home can help maintain the clarity and wholesomeness of the home's energies. They can also help reduce the effects of stress and electro-magnetic pollution. You can use arrangements of crystals in your home or garden to help keep the energy clear and to call in desired energies. The crystals can be part of the decorative features of your home while providing energy or can be placed out of sight if you do not want them visible. Crystals can absorb, repel or transmute unbalanced energies and set the energy note or tones of a room.
Your choice of stones will help make the area more suitable for whatever purpose you use the room. An arrangement of crystals or a single stone can also provide a focus for meditations. Agate bookends and other carved stone pieces serve double duty as decorative and useful elements while contributing to the room environment.

Corners of the room
It is quite common to place a stone or crystal in each corner of a room or of the house to provide basic clearing and protection. Though some people prefer larger stones. Even tiny quartz or amethyst points at the corners have been quite effective.
The Most common room placement may be putting a quartz crystal in each corner of the room and or corner of the house. Amethyst is also often used. These corner crystals are usually kept in place at all times and may be cleared or rotated with others when it feels right to do so.
A single terminated quartz crystal is placed in each corner of the room with the points facing into the centre. Some people use a small bottle or container with chips of stones such as a chakra or rainbow set possibly combined with herbs oils and /or salt or water. A small box (some prefer a pyramid shaped box) can be filled with the stones of your choice too. As you place each stone you can thank its dedication to the function of maintaining a protective and clear environment in the area.

The stones do not actually need to be all of the same kind. You can certainly place more than one stone in or near each corner. They can be chosen to bring in a specific quality of energy to represent the elements or by personal intuition.

Seashells and rose quartz are often placed in the bathroom. You can really indulge your crystal comforts in the bathroom, and always remember that candlelight encourages and reflects the crystal’s energy around the room. To make the ultimate in relaxing baths, add to the water some rose oil, dried rose petals, a sprig of rosemary, some vanilla oil and a piece of rose quartz. Another good crystal in the bathroom is smoky quartz. If you place a piece in your washing or bath water, or attach it to the shower head, it will cleanse the water you use to cleanse your skin, of all negative energy that may be trapped in the water from its recycling.

Many people also find that bathing with rose quartz or other water safe crystals or even plain old rocks enhances the bathing experience dramatically. Crystals can be placed around the edge of the bath; this method is always very effective and enjoyable. Placing crystals in the bath itself (only water safe ones please!) will absorb the strains of the day and any negative emotions we have. Aventurine is really effective in the bath also clear quartz, rose quartz and amethyst.

A classic crystal placement for the bedroom is to take three singly terminated quartz crystals and place them under the mattress. One is placed point in at the top centre of the bed the other two are placed point in at each corner of the foot of the bed. This will put you in a nest of very relaxing and protective energies. Some people report that large crystals in the bedroom can disturb their sleep. There are many crystals that are used for sleep or for dream work but you may find it better to keep only a few in the bedroom.

Children's Rooms
Children are often plagued by nightmares or fears in the night. To help with this you can give them a set of crystals to arrange in their own grid each night, depending on what’s troubling them. They will feel happy that they are protected by it. It’s also nice to hang a faceted piece of rainbow quartz in their window, so that with the morning light they will be bathed in rainbow colours. A salt lamp would be very good in here too if the children have any electrical toys or computers in their room.

Many people also place stones facing or near to doors such as an obsidian sphere or large agate for grounding and protection or some rose quartz to 'greet' visitors.
Both Rose quartz and Amethyst help keep the atmosphere of a room light and positive Some people choose a stone to be placed facing the door as a guardian stone. Hematite by the front door to benefit from its protective qualities. You can place several tumbled hematites either outside or inside your front door in a visually pleasing way. For example, if you have big pots with plants on both sides of the main door, you can place the hematites on top of the soil or at the base of the plant pot.

Petrified wood helps keep people in the room grounded and calm and helps keep people in touch with inner wisdom. Clear quartz and citrine can help with mental clarity. Gypsum Roses are nice in areas where you read or study.

In the Kitchen, you may enjoy having a marble slab. You can get stone rolling pins and mortars and pestles. Rock salt is often kept in the kitchen as a symbol of prosperity, hospitality. Many people like to have abundance stones and stones that promote family harmony in the kitchen area.
Try some Red Tiger Eye placed on the windowsill; this brown chalcedony quartz will bring vigour in with the light, so that even if you are tired after work, you will be serene and powerful in your food preparation.

Citrine and Malachite are a traditional accent to the office
Some stones and crystals can assist with special needs such as mental alertness or creativity or to make sleep easier and with many other purposes I recommend that you select stones carefully for your specified purpose and consult your intuition and spiritual and or devic guidance before doing any specific programming because quite often rooms are used for multiple purposes and a permanently running programmed stone may only support some of the needed purposes. You may want to keep a crystal cluster or some obsidian, stibnite, hematite or other stone near the computer monitor or television whether or not you are sensitive to the energy radiating from them. All electrical equipment can create strong electromagnetic fields.

Near the telephone
Keeping a small bowl of tumbled stones near the telephone will help you deal with those difficult calls by giving you energetic assistance to help you maintain your own energy field, prevent over involvement in other peoples problems, increase your sales resistance and many other benefits. You can also reach into the bowl to select specific stones for a given situation.

Tumbled stones are a great first stone to try when beginning your journey with crystals. Don’t focus on the details about the stone; rather, let the stones choose you.
